What dinners are best to freeze?
Watch the video below to find out if freezer meals are really worth all the hype!
Hi, it’s Kristy from Mama Bears Prep again and today I wanted to just take a couple minutes to talk to you about is freezer meals and why freezer meals are important to have to be prepared. Freezer meals are a key to being a prepared, mama.
Just recently I had COVID-19 – Coronavirus. It was a lot more rough than I expected it was going to be. I did everything I possibly could preventative to try not to get covid. I still had this overwhelming thought in my mind that I just couldn’t shake. It’s not really a matter of IF I get covid it’s a matter of WHEN! I went through steps to be prepared. I purchased a bunch of supplements that I had on hand because I just kept thinking, I was going to eventually contract it. And I did!
It’s just gonna happen to ALL of us. So the question really is – are you going to be prepared when you contract Covid or are you going to not be prepared? Besides, having the supplements ready and handy do you have food that you will be able to eat when you get quarantined? I had food prepared in my freezer. I had freezer meals so that if something happened, all we had to do was pull it out of the freezer. We could put it in the crock pot or the instant pot, and then bam dinner would be done! It was easy enough that my husband, who really doesn’t lift a finger in the kitchen was able to make dinner on those nights that I was just way way way too sick to make dinner.
I don’t have a program for freezer meals. There are a lot of them out on the internet and I personally have joined many of them. There are a lot of really great ones out there. If you don’t want to buy a program, you can just go on pinterest and find tons of freezer meal recipes. I recommend that you go ahead and try some out. Put some in your freezer. They work really great on those busy nights too! Or when you don’t have time to like figure out what is for dinner or even worse, if you’re in between paychecks and you don’t know, if you have money to buy the food that you need. If you have something as a backup plan, then that’s great and congratulations you are prepared! That’s my plug for freezer meals and I am just telling you that I absolutely recommend that you have freezer meals, because you never know when something’s gonna happen.
So I had covid and it took about three weeks for me to get back to like 70% of what I normally am. Two of those weeks I was pretty sick and then everyday the 3rd week I kept getting better. About 3 weeks after I first started having covid symptoms, my father-in-law got admitted to the hospital because he had some internal bleeding going on. So I ran straight from being sick- feeling mostly recovered other than having a cough and no energy to then worrying and trying to comfort my in-laws. It was a rough about month and a half of my life. I’m just so grateful that I had freezer meals in my freezer so that when WE needed them, they were there. We were prepared and we didn’t have to worry about, going and grabbing something to eat, going and getting fast food or anything like that. We were prepared, and it was such a blessing in my life, so anyways, that’s another plug for freezer meals, and just food prep in general. If you’re prepared, you are going to be so much better off than when you’re not prepared. Like I said, I GUARANTEE there’s going to be a day in your life, where you’re not going to feel like making dinner, whether you’re, sick or whether somebody you love is at the hospital or whether your kid breaks their arm or maybe it’s a financial issue that you don’t have the money to go buy groceries or whatever- the circumstance is. Freezer meals will come in handy and be a lifesaver one day for you- IF you are prepared and have them in freezer. If you have those freezer meals in your freezer, you just pull them out and dinner’s ready and it’s not a big deal!
Don’t you think it would be wise for you to have some meals in freezer for an emergency?
